POSITION TITLE:Family Contact Worker x2
TYPE OF POSITION:On Call
REPORTS TO:Mental Health Clinician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Family Contact Worker is responsible for supervising the contact between parents and their children who are in out of home placement. Also promotes healthy positive family interactions through sight/sound observations and monitoring, as well as enforcing visitation guidelines. The Family Contact Worker are responsible for appropriate documentation and is accountable to ensure that progress notes meet standards as specified in grants and contacts, applicable professional statutes and regulations, KIT policies and procedures and professional ethics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have an understanding of and appreciation for the Kenaitze Dena’ina culture, history and traditions.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • At least one year experience of writing progress notes and/or daily summaries.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.

POSITION TITLE:Family Partner

REPORTS TO:Family Services/Training/Enrollment Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Family Partner plans, coordinates, recruits, and facilitates parental involvement, parenting classes, and the development of individualized Family Partnership Agreement for the purpose of improving the quality of life, achieving family goals, providing support, and providing assistance to families of children enrolled in the Head Start Program to enhance personnel success and adjustment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • AA in Human Service, psychology, Social Service, Early Childhood Development.
  • Four years prior experience working in the field of family Services/Mental Health/Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of community/resources and family resources.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with community partners.
  • Good organizational skills and timely, accurate documentation.

Scans daily all documents located in the tickler file into the Electronic Medical Record. Correctly scans Each document into the correct patient record and correct location within the records. POSITION SUMMARY

The Case Manager provides direction to Individual Skill Providers assigned to the program, with the supervision of the assigned Clinician. This position is responsible for the maintenance of client files which include functional assessments and treatment plans. In partnership with co-workers, the Case Manager will develop and facilitate summer activities for the ISP Program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. in Mental Health related field preferred.
  • One (1) year post-bachelor’s experience providing services including experience working with SED children and drug and alcohol programs preferred
  • Experience in case management preferred

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with or living among Alaska Natives/Native Americans preferred

POSITION SUMMARY

The Summer Program Kitchen Manager is responsible for creating a menu, planning and preparing meals, maintaining cooking area, keeping inventory, and purchasing goods for the Nakenu Family Center Summer Program in accordance with the USDA Summer Food Service Program food grant and Department of Environmental Conservation regulations and requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for pulling and filing charts, reception, screening, appointments and loose filing. In addition, may assist in training new employees. Also responsible for assembly and analysis of incomplete charts, release of information and data entry of client information into Medisoft. Will also provide basic administrative support functions as needed for the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a clerical or office assistant position, and one year experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft word, Excel, and other software programs.

  • Previous experience working with Alaska Native or American Indians preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

To create a successful environment that will promote the growth and development of up to 20 Head Start children and families. Teachers will maintain on-going contact with families, and work with all other program components (health, nutrition, family services, mental health) to integrate educational goals, developmentally appropriate practices into the family setting and encourage health and well being of the child by following the guidance of the Head Start Performance Standards. In addition to social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, teachers also prepare children for a successful transition into the public school system.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field. (if not currently CDA credentialed or have an AAS degree, employee must obtain CDA within 180 days of hire).
  • Demonstrated classroom ability, typically two years class room experience with preschool-age children. Demonstrated ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to supervise Teach Aide, Individual Skills Providers and volunteers in the classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially good listening skills. Working knowledge of available community resources and Head Start program components.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Child Care Aide provides assistance and support to the Child Care Provider to ensure quality services to children and families. Supports a creative learning environment, establishes daily routines, and encourages the development of children. Must also be familiar with program policies, health and safety regulations, emergency procedures, and be ready to implement these if necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY

To assist the teacher in providing a positive learning experience for children and families with the classroom, during cultural programs and during tutoring. Ability to work with 3-5 yrs olds as well as K-2 grades. Ability to work with children with special needs.

Assist teachers with data entry and printed communication with families.

POSITION SUMMARY

Individual Skill Providers provide assistance and teach skills so clients served will achieve the desired outcomes listed in their treatment plan in areas of social and recreational activities, safety and problem solving, and academic achievement. The ISP is accountable to insure that their progress notes meet standards as specified in grants and contracts, applicable professional statutes and regulations, KIT polices and procedures and professional ethics and responsible for maintaining an on-going positive relationship with schools and other agencies within the Kenaitze Indian Tribe's service delivery system

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • General understanding of drug and alcohol abuse and treatment, mental illness, FASD, mental and physical
  • Disabilities affecting clients, domestic violence, and child abuse, or a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate cross cultural competence.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift program materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Alaska Driver’s License
